Recognition & service
Youth Heroes Awards
Recognising young people whose service and leadership contribute to peace.
Programme overview
Youth Heroes Awards celebrates the spirit of service by bringing attention to young people whose contributions reflect responsibility, integrity and empathy. Recognition is an opportunity to tell the story behind a contribution: the need that inspired it, the commitment it required and the people it sought to support. The programme connects appreciation with the wider mission of youth leadership and peace. Confirmed nomination procedures, eligibility, selection arrangements and award announcements belong to the organising office and are shared for each edition when available.
Inside the programme
Recognise the contribution
The focus is on the substance of service and the example it offers to others. A meaningful story considers the community context, the work undertaken and the commitment behind it, rather than visibility alone. Recognition can help make everyday leadership more visible and encourage an understanding of success grounded in responsibility and care.
Tell stories with care
Public recognition should be supported by confirmed information and respectful storytelling. Describing a contribution accurately, distinguishing personal testimony from documented results and respecting the people represented protects the value of the award. Nominees and awardees are presented only after the organising office provides the relevant approved information.
Inspire continued service
An award is a moment of appreciation, not the end of a person’s contribution. Sharing the lessons behind youth service can encourage others to consider how they might take part in their own communities. The programme’s wider purpose is to connect recognition with continuing leadership, learning and a culture of service.
